We are looking for the best of the best to join us this summer to deliver a stellar program at both Camp Comer and Camp Sequoyah. Working on staff at a summer camp is a rewarding experience that offers memories, leadership enhancement, and of course fun! 

 
The Greater Alabama Council will be holding open interview dates January 16 at the Birmingham Scout Office and
February 13 at the Huntsville Scout Office.
 
Interview times begin at 9am and will end at 2pm for both locations.

NYLT is a six day, five night course that gives Scouts BSA, Sea Scouts, Explorers and Venturers methods, skills and experiences to become better leaders in their unit. The course centers around the concepts of what a leader must be, what they must know, and what they must do – with a clear focus on how to accomplish all this.

Camp Sequoyah located on Frank Spain Scout Reservation is truly the “Land of 1000 Dreams”. Nestled aside Talladega National Forest, Camp Sequoyah is your wilderness destination. From excellent merit badge instruction to troop centered free time activities there is something for everyone.

We invite you to spend a week discovering your adventure!

Powder Horn is a High Adventure Resource Management Course open to all Scouting Adults and Youth age 14 . Participants will learn the necessary skills to oversee a high adventure program and learn of local resources available for your group’s program. For more information and to register, click HERE.

Every year, from October through December, all units (packs, troops, crews, & posts) renew their affiliation with Scouting.
 
A once in a life-time Service Patch – Recognizing Scouts and Scouters who found a safe way during COVID-19 to provide “Service to Others”.  They heard the call “To help others at all times” and responded as Scouts (Prepared).  
 
Its not too late to earn this Patch.

The Episcopal Diocese of Alabama is welcoming Cub Packs to spend a weekend camping at Camp McDowell, a historic camp that has been in operation for nearly 100 years

The Greater Alabama Council is excited to share that we are a pilot Council for the BSA’s newest initiative: STEM Scouts & STEM Exploring. These 2 new programs will become official BSA programs in 2021. As a pilot Council we can start new STEM Labs in any part of our Council for those who are interested
